Your Impact

Thanks to your generous donations for Pro-Life Sunday 2019, you made these stories possible:

“Recently a client remarked that due to the care she received at one of our pregnancy centres she was able to make decisions without pressure. Her personal history is marked by many instances of not having the family, or partner support to do that. It was good news to our ears that she perceived the centre setting as safe and caring, allowing her what she needed to make clear decisions. She is now the mother of a beautiful 3 month old.”

“I am happy to report that I managed to recruit 62 volunteers for pro-life candidates, many of whom actually materialized and contributed a lot to the candidates we assigned them to. I am also very excited about our results in the Lower Mainland. Many pro-life candidates may not have won without our support. I am very proud of the work we did out there, and you should be too.”

“Hope for Women has kept its doors open during this pandemic. I believe we are the only pregnancy centre to have continued our on-site services. God has been faithful to reward our courage with many new moms coming into our centres and many lives continuing to be saved! Our SHIFT Program has successfully changed its strategy to being able to give virtual SHIFT presentations. We are in contact with dozens of schools and have already given some virtual presentations. We hope to give many more in the coming months.”

“Our first LiveChat communication came a day after implementing the chat. The young girl was concerned she was pregnant and was scared. She didn’t know what to do or who to talk to. We encouraged her to come to the centre and she met with a client advocate who helped her take a test (it was positive) and talked through her situation with her. The client was abortion vulnerable and was considering that as an option. After talking with her client advocate she realized that she wanted to parent but she was just worried about the support from her family. The client advocate gave the client tips on telling her family and followed up with her a few days later. The client received support that she didn’t think she would from her family and felt confident after her visit to our centre that she was capable of parenting, so she decided to carry to term. She is very happy with her decision.”

“We are seeing clients through phone counselling and videoconferencing. An OnlineCare client connected 2 days ago in a very difficult situation yet open to considering adoption. Last week we had a very abortion minded caller who chose to do an options video-conferencing session with our staff person. On Friday we learned she had a complete change of mind and is now carrying her pregnancy. We are continuing to offer her support and referrals. For clients looking for free pregnancy tests we handle their intake over the phone and leave a pregnancy kit outside for pick up. We make practical support such as diapers and baby items available through delivery or at the door pick-up. Our post abortion group and one-one post abortion clients have been able to continue via video conferencing and over the phone.”

“We have closed our office to the public, but we continue to serve our clients in a variety of ways. For our existing clients we are providing care packages of diapers, wipes and gift cards. They are so grateful for this as many of them are really struggling financially. We are also providing options counselling via telephone, text and email.
We created take home pregnancy test kits. These kits can be picked up at our office in a contactless manner and we then make arrangements to provide support to the client by phone after they have taken the test at home so they have the support they need.
We are referring new post-abortive clients to the Christian Advocacy Society's post abortion recovery ministry as they are equipped to help these clients via phone and video chat.”
